The Story Behind the Society

Meet the Woman Behind Maple on Main

A little about me, the story that led me here, and why I believe we could all use a little more time to slow down, settle in, and get lost in a good story.

The Heart Behind Maple on Main

Read with intention.

We live in a world that seems to ask us to move faster all the time. Faster to the next thing. Quicker to the next message, the next task, the next destination. Everything is immediate, and so often we're already thinking about what's next before we've even finished what's in front of us.

Even reading can begin to feel that way — another book to finish, another story to get through, another title to check off the list.

I wanted Maple on Main to offer something different.

A place where you can step out of the rush for a little while and truly immerse yourself in the reading experience. To settle into a story instead of racing toward the ending. To notice the details. To let a passage stay with you. To have a cup of tea, turn a page, and simply be where you are.

Because I believe reading can be more than finishing a book. It can be a way of creating space in our lives — space to think, to feel, to imagine, to connect, and to be present.

Slow down intentionally.
Read intentionally.
Immerse yourself in the story.
Create moments worth remembering.

It's not just about reading a book.

It's about making room for the experience of reading.

The quiet before you begin. The anticipation of opening a new story. The comfort of a familiar chair. A handwritten note. A beautiful package waiting at your door. A conversation about a character who somehow feels like someone you know.

These are the moments that make a book become part of our lives. And those are the moments I want Maple on Main to help create.

One

Slow Down

Give yourself permission to step away from the pace of everything else and simply settle into the story.

Two

Read Intentionally

Be present with the words, the characters, the details, and the feelings a story brings with it.

Three

Create the Moment

Make reading time something you look forward to — something beautiful, meaningful, and entirely your own.

A Little More Slowly

This is why Maple on Main exists.

To bring people together through books, while making a little more room in our lives for the things that matter.

To read deeply. To linger over a story. To have meaningful conversations. To create small rituals and memorable moments.

And, every once in a while, to simply slow down and stay awhile.

A Note From the Founder

Welcome to Maple on Main.

I'm so glad you're here.

Maple on Main began with a simple idea: that books can give us more than a story to read. They can give us a reason to pause, a place to gather, and a moment that belongs entirely to us.

In a world that seems to move faster every day, I wanted to create something that encouraged us to do the opposite—to settle in, pay attention, and truly experience the story in front of us.

Maple on Main is my invitation to make reading time feel intentional again. To create little rituals around a book. To discover something beautiful. To share a conversation. To make memories around the stories we choose to bring into our lives.

And most of all, to remember that we don't always have to rush toward what's next.

Happy Reading,

A Little Piece of Me

The little things matter.

I love the feeling of reading something with intention—not because it has to be perfect, but because the details can make an ordinary moment feel like something worth remembering.

That is a part of what I wanted to bring to Maple on Main.

I wanted to create a place that feels warm and welcoming. A place where a book can become more than something you read—it can become the beginning of a ritual, a conversation, or a memory.

A little slower. A little more intentional. A little more ours.

A Little More Personally

A Piece of Me...

I've always been a little sentimental about the ordinary things.

I love a house that feels lived in. Books stacked where they probably shouldn't be. Flowers gathered from the garden and tucked into a jar. Something baking in the kitchen. A cup of tea when the house finally gets quiet. Sitting around a table with people I love and realizing we've been talking for hours.

I'm drawn to the little things that make us slow down and actually notice where we are.

I've always loved books for that reason, too. A good story can take you somewhere completely different, but sometimes it's everything around the book that stays with you most — where you were sitting, what the weather was doing, what you were drinking, or who you were talking to about it afterward.

That's the feeling I wanted to bring to Maple on Main.

I didn't want to create just another book club or a box that arrives at your door. I wanted to create something that feels a little like being invited in.

A place for stories, beautiful little details, good conversation, new friendships, familiar rituals, and the simple pleasure of making an ordinary moment feel special.

And maybe that's the part of Maple on Main that is most me.

A little slower.
A little more intentional.
A little more ours.
