A Little More Than a Book Club
Maple on Main Literary Society is a seasonal reading community organized around Reading Seasons—two-month chapters of the Society that give members a shared book, a shared rhythm, and a reason to gather.
During a Reading Season, members help choose the book, follow a Reading Guide, participate in guided conversations, and come together for the Literary Gathering.
Your Invitation gives you one, three, or six complete Reading Seasons, depending on the gift you received.
What Your Invitation Includes
Your Invitation includes the number of complete Reading Seasons selected by the person who gifted it to you.

One complete two-month Reading Season, including the seasonal book experience, Reading Guide, Society conversations, and Literary Gathering.

Three complete Reading Seasons, giving you the opportunity to experience three chapters of the Society as the books, conversations, and seasons change.

Six complete Reading Seasons—an extended invitation to experience the Society across the changing year.
What Is a Reading Season?
Think of a Reading Season as a two-month chapter of the Society.
Every Reading Season has its own atmosphere, reading experience, and featured Maple Pick. Members move through the season together, even when they are reading from different places.
The season begins with book selection and continues through reading, conversation, reflection, and the Literary Gathering.
It is not simply a book you are assigned. It is a shared experience built around the book.
Our Reading Seasons
Each Reading Season lasts two months and has its own distinct character. Your specific seasons are established when you activate your Invitation.
Harvest Season
Our autumn reading season, filled with changing leaves, cooler evenings, cozy reading, atmospheric stories, and the beginning of the Society's reading year.
Hearth Season
A warm, gathering-centered season that carries the Society through late autumn and the holidays, with books and conversations meant to be enjoyed slowly.
Evergreen Season
The beginning of a new reading year—a quieter, reflective chapter for fresh stories, thoughtful conversations, and settling into the year with a good book.
Wild Daffodil Season
A spring chapter centered around renewal, brighter days, fresh perspectives, and stories that feel at home as the world begins to awaken.
Firefly Season
A lighter, brighter chapter inspired by long evenings, warm nights, and the small magic of summer beginning.
Summer Reading Season
A summer chapter for slower days, longer stretches of reading, and stories that accompany the season before the Society turns toward autumn once again.
You Have a Voice in What We Read
The Society does not simply hand you a book. Members help choose it.
Before each new Reading Season, Maple on Main creates a carefully researched and curated selection of books for members to consider.
At the beginning of the book-selection period for a new season, active members can cast their vote. The book receiving the most member support becomes the Maple Pick.
Once the Maple Pick is selected, members move into the shared reading experience together throughout the season.
The Selection
Books are researched and curated for the upcoming Reading Season.
The Vote
Active members vote for the book they would most like the Society to read together.
The Maple Pick
The selected book becomes the Society's book for that Reading Season.
When Should You Activate?
If you'd like to participate in an upcoming Reading Season, activate your Invitation before that season's participation and book-voting deadlines.
Want to be part of the upcoming season? Activate your Invitation early enough to take part in the book-selection process and receive everything you need for the season.
Book voting takes place before each Reading Season begins. If you activate after the current season's participation window has passed, your membership will begin with the next available Reading Season.

A companion to help you move through the book, notice meaningful details, and think more deeply about what you're reading.
Guided Book Conversations
Weekly guided conversations give members a place to discuss characters, scenes, themes, questions, and memorable moments.

A private member community where readers can talk about books, recommendations, seasonal happenings, hobbies, and the things they're enjoying along the way.
The Literary Gathering
A special gathering centered around the season's book where members come together for a deeper conversation.
The Society Rhythm
Each season gives you a gentle rhythm for reading, discussing, gathering, and enjoying the experience alongside other readers.
